We are grateful to be part of the CHMS Alexandria inaugural class and this wonderful, supportive school community. Under Mr. Jad’s compassionate and capable leadership as head of school, truly fantastic teachers, and drawing on 20+yrs of CHMS experience in Arlington — the Alexandria campus has more than delivered on an incredible education experience, and all in a brand-new campus tailor-made for fostering learning and engagement. After living in South America for the first years of our little one’s life, we moved back to the U.S. with some adjustment worries. But thanks to the caring teachers and excellent CHMS team, our family has enjoyed a smooth transition into full-time preschool and our daughter has thrived. Montessori methods have helped her bloom into a more confident, social, independent toddler. We are already signed up for summer camp and next school year and can’t wait! Thank you, CHMS, for helping our family feel at home.

I would love to give a big shoutout to Children’s House Montessori School (Alexandria campus). This is a truly wonderful preschool for several reasons.

First and foremost, the staff is exceptional. Led by Mr. Jad, a dedicated and inspiring educator, the team of career teachers at CHMS is caring, supportive, and deeply passionate about teaching young children using the authentic Montessori method. Their commitment to each child’s individual growth is evident every day.

Another major highlight is the brand-new, state-of-the-art campus. The classrooms are bright, clean, and spacious, with thoughtfully chosen materials that support Montessori learning. Every detail—from the layout to the furniture—seems to have been designed with the children’s development, safety, and comfort in mind.

And then there’s the community. As this is CHMS’s inaugural year, the school started with just a small group of families who believed in the vision from day one. This has created a unique sense of connection among parents, teachers, and children. We’ve had the chance to really get to know one another through school events and everyday interactions, forming a welcoming, supportive, and diverse community.

I’d also like to personally thank the teachers of the Poppy class (Ms. Marianna, Ms. Jusleny, and Ms. Caroline). My strong-willed toddler has blossomed in their care. Their endless patience, warmth, and skill have helped her grow in confidence and independence since her very first day. I am deeply grateful for the nurturing environment they’ve created.

To any families out there looking for an outstanding preschool: Children’s House Montessori School in Alexandria is truly something special. We couldn’t be happier with our experience.

Children’s House Montessori School is a truly exceptional environment for young learners. We feel so fortunate to have been part of CHMS Alexandria’s inaugural class this year. You’d never know it was their first year—the transition was seamless! When we began searching for a preschool for our then 2.5-year-old son, CHMS stood out due to its strong focus on values and excellent leadership. Among so many options, it truly set itself apart, and it has exceeded our expectations.

From day one, our son has eagerly walked into school without hesitation, and comes home each day with a big smile. Every aspect of the school is carefully designed to support the students in the best possible way. The weekend playdates, where new students can meet their peers and staff, helped ease the transition and made him feel welcome right away.

The classroom is bright, calm, and welcoming—an ideal environment for learning. The teachers are not only knowledgeable and caring but also incredibly responsive to both the children and parents. The sense of community among the students and parents has been an added bonus, and we have loved getting to know so many wonderful families.

We’ve seen our son flourish in his empathy, focus, and overall learning. CHMS Alexandria has become such an important part of our village, and we are deeply grateful for the amazing first school experience it has provided for our son.

The teachers are remarkable in their dedication and attentiveness to each child's individual needs. They are also wonderfully open to feedback and excel as responsive communicators, making collaboration between home and school seamless. We've witnessed tremendous growth in our daughter during her time at CHMS. She began in the toddler classroom, and when the teachers thoughtfully observed she was ready for new challenges, they recommended her transition to preschool, where she has continued to thrive. Their keen observation skills and genuine care for what's best for each child consistently impresses us. The warmth, patience, and kindness they show every day is evident--our daughter comes home each day sharing how wonderful her teachers are.

The school community CHMS has built is equally impressive. Through thoughtful events like playdates, picnics, and school gatherings, we've formed meaningful connections with other families and truly feel part of a close-knit community.

Perhaps the greatest testament to CHMS is that our daughter is genuinely excited to go to school every day. We had worried about her first day, but thanks to the pre-opening playdates and opportunities to visit the school and meet her teachers, she walked in confidently without a single tear. Knowing she is happy, loved, and thriving is what matters most to us, and CHMS delivers on all fronts.

CHMS Alexandria is a truly wonderful place, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have our daughter there and to be part of this amazing community.
